Ribera takes the A\u00f1ez case to the World Congress of Law on democracy in Colombia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The daughter of former President Jeanine A\u00f1ez will speak at the meeting about the \u201cpolitical persecution\u201d in Bolivia and the situation of her mother as a \u201cpolitical prisoner.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carolina Ribera, daughter of former President Jeanine A\u00f1ez, arrived in Barranquilla, Colombia, to participate in the World Congress on Law. The event has panels referring to democracy, human rights, and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ribera will present at the meeting on the \u201cpolitical persecution\u201d in Bolivia and the situation of her mother as a \u201cpolitical prisoner,\u201d she reported this Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn this Congress of the World\u2019s Jurists, issues of the rule of law, democracy, respect for due process, and human rights will be discussed. All these issues have robbed and violated [the rights of] my mother. I come to be her voice to ask for a fair trial and for the whole world to find out about my mother\u2019s situation, I seize every opportunity and every location,\u201d said Ribera in contact with P\u00e1gina Siete Digital<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former Foreign Minister Karen Longaric, who was part of the transitional Government led by A\u00f1ez, will also participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meeting, which consists of 49 panels, lawyers and personalities of international politics will give their presentations, such as Colombian President Iv\u00e1n Duque, King Felipe VI of Spain, the Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo L\u00f3pez, the Secretary-General of the Organization of American States (OAS), Luis Almagro, and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event takes place this Thursday and Friday and has the participation of more than 3,000 people who can also expose the problems that their countries are experiencing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the case of Ribera, who will participate in two spaces [to present] her mother\u2019s case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A tweet published on the account of the former President, imprisoned since March of this year for the cases \u201ccoup d\u2019\u00c9tat I\u201d and \u201ccoup d\u2019\u00c9tat II\u201d, gives an account of that participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCarolina is the voice of #JeanineA\u00f1ez as a political prisoner since 13 March 2021. Thanks to the World Congress of Justice where she is exposing the situation of the illegality of her detention, the despicable accusation, and crying out for the injustice suffered by democratic Bolivia,\u201d the text outlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For her part, Longaric will participate in the Human Rights and Justice panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Venezuelan L\u00f3pez, during his speech in a discussion published by NTN24, expressed his support for Carolina Ribera and the former Bolivian President. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The member of the European Parliament Hermann Tertsch also expressed his solidarity with this cause through a message on his social networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
